Watch for THE OFFICER’S SECRET, the first book in my new MILITARY INVESTIGATIONS SERIES from Steeple Hill Love Inspired Suspense, scheduled to be in stores May 2011. The second book will follow later that year.

I was thrilled when my editor asked me to write the series. She was looking for a NCIS-type story but with Army heroes. Nate Patterson is an agent with the Army’s Criminal Investigation Division (CID) that handles felony crime within the military. He’s handsome and focused and stationed at Fort Rickman, Georgia. Nate’s ready to redeploy back to Afghanistan, but his plans change when a female officer dies on post. The sister, a family counselor from Alabama and the heroine of the story, is convinced her only sibling was murdered. Yet nothing points to foul play, and Nate must rely on his gut as well as his heart to solve the case. Falling in love with Maggie Bennett wasn’t part of his plan.

Maggie knows someone staged her sister’s death to look like a suicide. If the CID agent assigned to the case isn’t convinced of wrong doing, Maggie plans to investigate the crime herself. But secrets need to be revealed before the case can be solved—secrets that could change Maggie’s life forever. No matter how attracted she is to the CID agent, she could never trust Nate with the truth…even if her life depends on it.

PROTECTING HER CHILD recently won THE GAYLE WILSON AWARD OF EXCELLENCE. The story earned 4 ½ Stars from Romantic Times Book Reviews and is about Merridith Lassiter, a pregnant widow on the run, who may have inherited Von Hippel-Lindau disease from her birthmother. I have been touched by the number of letters I’ve received from folks with VHL, thanking me for helping to educate the public about the disease.

My novella, YULE DIE, was a 2010 Golden Quill finalist. You can find it in the two-for-one release, CHRISTMAS PERIL, which also included Margaret Daley’s MERRY MAYHEM. Margaret’s a dear friend, and it was a joy working with her on this holiday project.

KILLER HEADLINE, released in February, was the second book in the Love Inspired Suspense Continuity, WITNESSES UNDER FIRE: Life and love in the witness protection program. Working with the other authors was an honor for me, and I hope many of you were able to read the entire series.
MIA: MISSING IN ATLANTA, written when my son was deployed for a second tour in Iraq, is dedicated to the 101st Airborne Division and all the brave men and women in uniform who defend our nation. They’re my heroes!

My debut novel, NOWHERE TO HIDE, and second book, SCARED TO DEATH, which won the Daphne du Maurier Award, as well as MIA: MISSING IN ATLANTA and KILLER HEADLINE are all available in large-print hardcover. You can find my books at your favorite bookstores or order them online at eHarlequin.com, Amazon.com or at BarnesandNoble.com.
